What We Liked

One of the things that we liked most about Unit4 was their all in one solution. They offer you the software you need to connect all of the dots of your business, keeping them visible and efficient at all times. This allows all of the areas of your business to stay connected seamlessly, making everything that much easier for the company, without any added stress to the owner.
Their Focus On People First, Always
Something that we loved about Unit4 is the fact that they put people at the center of everything they do. The whole reason the business was set up was to help people, making things easier, and providing better people experience within companies that they serve. This really shows, not only in their software, but in their approach to updates and additions to their service.
Fantastic Customer Service
Customer service is an important part of business, and Unit4 seems to know this more than anyone. We found that their customer service team can never quite do enough to help when they are needed, with reasonable response times and a friendly attitude.
A Flexible Option
The final thing that we liked about Unit4’s ERP software is that the software is extremely flexible. There are multiple ways that you can customize the solution on offer, making it work for you, upgrading when needed, and with changes/adaptations possible at any given point.What We Didn’t Like
Not So User Friendly
One of the biggest gripes that we have with Unit4 is that it’s not what we would call user friendly. It’s difficult to use the interface, it’s tough to understand what you’re looking at, and there is a steep learning curve to be able to use it effectively. On top of that, it gets worse when you heavily customize, because it can make updates and maintenance more difficult.
Implementation Costs How Much?
The implementation of this software is not cheap by a long shot, and for businesses on a tight budget, this is not good. It means that this company will focus their offerings to more mid-tier and larger companies, which isn’t a bad thing on its own. But, being a people-centered company, you would think there would be less hidden costs.
Limitations You Don’t See At First
There are limitations with the automation, as well as the payroll capabilities. For payroll, it’s limited to the US and Canada, which means that if ever an international business wanted to use this function, it wouldn’t be possible.
So, What Do We Think?
So, do we think that Unit4 is worth using as a company? We definitely do. We can understand that some people may have their issues with this company due to some of the cons that we have discussed, and the things that we didn’t like, but honestly the things we did like do outweigh them in the end. You’re never going to get a perfect solution, there are always going to be issues, but Unit4’s dedication to people gives them an edge that not many other companies have at the moment. As such, we definitely think that this is a company you should be getting in touch with for your ERP needs.
